Audrey Margaret Kelly
Horse Trainer, Bare Back Rider
Born: Louisiana, 1933

Born into a middle class family, her father was an Insurance Salesman, her mother, a homemaker. Her only sibling, Lucy, is three years younger than Audrey, and a rather homely girl. Lucy was a serious, shy, brilliant student with aspirations of going to college. Audrey, on the other hand, was “artistic,” fun loving, a poor student, and strikingly beautiful. She enjoyed being in the lime light. In her junior year at high school she landed the lead part in the school musical. It was then that she fell in love with show business. She longed for the bright lights and the big city. After barely graduating high school, Audrey ran away to New York City to pursue her dream of being a star. Her time in New York didn’t last long. She found it difficult to find work and she grew tired of living in transient hotels and working at the automat. After an affair with a circus performer Audrey joined the G.E. Circus at the age of 22. She has been a head liner for 40 years. She never married but has had a never ending series of affairs. She claims that she will never retire but will die in the center ring with her boa on and sawdust under her feet.
